National (Datong, Shanxi) 5A Tourist Attraction. There are 45 main caves, 252 large and small cave niches, and more than 51000 stone statues, with the largest being 17 meters and the smallest just a few centimeters. The most representative is the 13.75m high open-air sitting statue of Buddha in Cave 20 (White Buddha Cave). This statue is still intact above the chest: the face is half round, the eyes are deep, the nose is high, the eyes are big, the lips are thin, and the typical Western minority is preserved
