Chongshan Temple It is not only a Buddhist temple, but also a royal ancestral temple. Huangmiao Lane, Wuyi South Road, was initially built in the Tang Dynasty. It was named Baima Temple, later renamed Yanshou Temple, Zongshan Temple, and later called Xinsi. It was renamed Chongshan Temple in the Ming Dynasty.

It is said that this temple was once the temporary residence of Yang Guang, Emperor of the Sui Dynasty. In the 14th year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (1381 AD), Zhu (Mugang), the third son of Zhu Yuanzhang, the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty, expanded the original temple in memory of his mother, Empress Ma. Chongshan Temple in the Ming Dynasty was built in full accordance with the standard palace style architecture. The total area is 140000 square meters.

The Hall of Great Compassion is the main building in the temple. It is a building with a typical style of the Ming Dynasty. The three most famous statues in the hall are Avalokitesvara, Manjusri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. These three statues are unique in shape, gorgeous in color, and smooth in lines. They are rare art treasures of the Ming Dynasty. Chongshan Temple also has a large number of books of the Song, Yuan and Ming Dynasties, which are valuable.
