The Chinese Embassy in Kiribati announced on the 15th that the visa free entry policy of Kiribati to China has officially come into force after confirmation with the Kiribati Immigration Bureau.

The news said that from now on, Chinese citizens who hold diplomatic, official and ordinary passports (valid for more than six months) to visit or make short-term visits to the capital can enter and transit without a visa, and stay in the capital for no more than 90 days every 12 months. If a single stay in the city exceeds 30 days, an application for extension of the stay shall be submitted to the immigration office of the city for a maximum of 60 days.

The Chinese Embassy in Kiribati reminded that the visa free policy of Kiribati to China is currently only applicable to Chinese citizens who go to Kiribati for tourism and short-term visits. Chinese citizens who go to work, invest, study and research in Basel need to apply for corresponding types of visas in advance, and those who do not obtain permission to carry out the above activities in Basel will face punishment.
