Taipa It is called Taipa for short (also known as Longtouswan, Tanzai, formerly Longhuan). Taipa has rich cultural and tourism resources. It is one of the three parts of Macao. Taipa used to be an independent island, but now it has become an unnamed island with Coloane and Cotai.
Taipa, known as Tanzai, Jijing, Longhuan and Longtoushuan in ancient times, is located about 2.5 kilometers south of the Macao Peninsula, facing Xiaohengqin Island in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province across the sea in the west. It is about 1.5 kilometers long, 3.5 kilometers wide, covering an area of 6.33 square kilometers, and has a population of more than 7000. Taipa Island runs from northeast to southwest, with Dadang Mountain in the east, Xiaodang Mountain in the west and Pingdi in the middle. At 159.1 meters above sea level, Dadang Mountain is the highest point of Taipa Island. The water on the northwest coast of Taipa Island is shallow.
