Yumen Pass used to be an important military pass and Silk Road traffic artery in the Han Dynasty. Although Yumen Pass has experienced more than 2000 years of wind and rain erosion, the walls are basically intact. The distance between the east and west ends is 24 meters, the width between the north and south is 26.4 meters, the height is 10 meters, and the total area is 630 square meters, which is rammed by yellow clay. By the end of the Tang Dynasty, Yumenguan was moved to the Shuangta Reservoir in Anxi County. Since then, Yumen Pass has ended its historical mission.
