South China Botanical Garden Mulan Garden (AAAA National Tourist Attraction, National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit), one of the four botanical gardens of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is the largest south subtropical botanical garden in China. It is located near Longyan Cave in the northeast suburb of the city. In 1986, it was rated as one of the "Eight New Sights of Yangcheng" by Guangzhou City, known as "Longdong Qilin".
Mulan Garden conserves 11 genera, 144 species and more than 200 varieties of Magnoliaceae plants, covering 315 hectares, with valleys, hills, depressions, lakes and streams. It is divided into palm plant area, mosquito plant area, bamboo specimen country, shade plant area, medicinal plant area, tropical greenhouse plant area, anti pollution plant area and nursery. In the park, green trees, exotic flowers, hidden paths among flowers, green corridors, rippling artificial lakes, and well arranged pavilions make it particularly beautiful. It is the conservation and research center of Magnoliaceae plants in the world. Mulan Garden, with its full display of flower and fruit forms of ornamental magnolia plants and beautiful garden style, has become a leisure place for tourists to linger and forget to return and an important place to receive popular science education. It is not only a traditional garden flower in China, but also a world famous ornamental plant.
