Tibet Yangzhuoyongcuo Lake Yanghu Lake for short is the largest inland lake at the northern foot of the Himalayas. It is the most beautiful lake in southern Tibet. Tibetan: Biyu Lake, Swan Pool, together with Namtso and Mapanyongco, are called the three holy lakes in Tibet.
The total area is 638 square kilometers, about the size of 70 Hangzhou West Lakes. The average depth of the lake is 20-40 meters, and the maximum depth is 60 meters.
There are more than 10 islands distributed in the lake, the large ones can accommodate five or six families, and the small ones can only cover more than 100 square meters. The lake is rich in fine scale fish, Tibetan split rump fish, plateau naked carp, etc. It is also the largest waterfowl habitat in southern Tibet. In winter, birds migrate to the south. There are many swans, water pigeons, yellow ducks, osprey and spotted geese on the lake shore and on the island in the middle of the lake.
Distribution of scenic spots : The mountains in the lake are suddenly redundant. There are 21 small islands distributed in the lake, each with its own water surface. The large ones can accommodate five or six families, while the small ones can only cover more than 100 square meters, with the largest area of about 18 square kilometers. The island has beautiful pasture and swarms of wild birds. There are three snow peaks in the west of the lake, including Ningjin anti sand peak. This peak is 7206 meters high. It is the most important holy mountain in Houzang area and one of the four traditional holy mountains in Tibet. In addition, Yanghu Hydropower Station, the highest pumped storage power station in the world, is located here.
Tourism strategy : Yangzhuoyongcuo is much more beautiful from a distance than from a close touch. It takes about 30 minutes to go down the road to the bank of Yangzhuo Lake after crossing the 5030 meter Ganbala Mountain Pass. This is the best way to enjoy Yangzhuoyongcuo. There are many viewing platforms along the way, which are very suitable for taking photos.
