Shanxi Museum , was founded in 1919, and in 2005, the new modern museum was completed and opened on the west bank of Fenhe River in Taiyuan City. Shanxi Museum is the largest cultural relics collection, protection, research and exhibition center in the province, with a collection of about 400000 pieces, gathering the essence of Shanxi cultural relics, of which bronze, jade, sculpture, murals, etc. are particularly distinctive.
