Introduction to the scenic spots of Beijing Xiangshan Park:
1. East Gate: the main gate of Xiangshan Park, facing east from west, with bronze lions on both sides. A large red gold plaque inscribed "Jingyi Garden" by Qianlong hung on the eaves of the gate. Now this gate is the reconstructed gate. The original Jingyi Garden gate is a city gate building, and there are three memorial archways at the gate.
2. Jingcui Lake: You can see a pool of clear water in the south after entering the gate, surrounded by mountains on three sides, which is quiet and pleasant. It is named Jingcui Lake. Here, the trees are lush, and the mountains are reflected in the calm lake. The word Jingcui really deserves its name.
3. Xiangshan Hotel: Turn right after Jingcui Lake to Xiangshan Hotel. This was the former site of Emperor Kangxi's summer palace. This high-end hotel was designed by the world famous architect I.M. Pei, a Chinese American. The main buildings are the quadrangle "Spicy Fragrance Hall", the Suzhou style courtyard "Misty Mist", the 1400 square meter artificial lake, and the "Flying Cloud Stone" on the lake surface. The whole building integrates the architectural styles of the north and south of China, and is a work combining Chinese traditional and modern techniques, giving people a sense of comfort and tranquility.
4. Xiangshan Temple: The site of the temple is the Dayong'an Temple built in the 26th year of Dading (1186) of the Jin Dynasty. It was originally a temporary palace of the Jin Dynasty. It is recorded that the original five storey hall, with stone archways, mountain gates, bell and drum towers, city walls, red walls and green tiles in front, is one of the twenty-eight scenic spots of Xiangshan. After the second massacre by the British French Allied Forces and the Eight Power Allied Forces, only the stone screen in front of the main hall remained. There are a few stone products that are not afraid of fire. The stone screen itself has high artistic value. In the middle of the front is the Vajra Sutra, on the left is the Heart Sutra, on the right is the Guanyin Sutra, and on the back is the burning lamp, Guanyin and the statue of Samantabhadra. Inside the mountain gate, there are stone tablets in Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan languages, which contain the Song of Saluting Trees written by Qianlong. There are several famous historic sites outside the mountain gate: Tingfasong: On both sides of the temple gate, there are two strong, tall, and luxuriant ancient pines, which look like Tingfasong, hence the name. Golden rooster crowing: stamp a few feet on the square brick in the center of Panasonic Yonglu, and you can hear the clanking sound, just like golden rooster crowing. Zhilehao: There is a square pool under the stone bridge in front of the mountain gate, with white marble railings on it, and there is a dragon head on the south side of the pool. The spring flows out, which is known as Lehao. Laiqing Pavilion: The pavilion is built on the rocks stacked on the cliff. When you climb the pavilion and look around, it is verdant, so it is called Laiqing. In the 28th year of Wanli's reign in the Ming Dynasty (1596), Emperor Wanli returned from sacrificing the tomb. After seeing the plaque of this pavilion, it was too small, so he wrote three characters, "Come to Qingxuan". There are also historical sites such as Hujiasong and Danjing in the temple.
5. Menggan Spring: It is said that Jin Zhangzong had a dream of a spring gushing out of the mountain palace for a long time. He ordered people to dig the ground in the morning, and got a spring named Menggan Spring. Later, the monks wanted to expand the spring, but it was exhausted.
6. Shuangqing Villa: On the southeast hillside of Xiangshan Temple, there is a unique and quiet courtyard, Shuangqing. There are two clear springs in the yard, one flowing to Zhile Hao and the other flowing to Jingcui Lake, which is the reason for the word "Shuangqing". There are octagonal pavilions and towering ginkgo trees beside the pool in the yard. In Dashui, Hebei Province, in 1917, Xiong Xiling supervised Xiangshan Kindergarten Bureau and built a villa here, which was called Shuangqing Villa. On March 25, 1949, Chairman Mao came to Ping from Xibaipo, Pingshan County, Hebei Province with the Party Central Committee, lived here, and did not move to Zhongnanhai until November. A series of important documents were published here. The famous Seven Laws "The People's Liberation Army Occupying Nanjing" was chanted in the octagonal pavilion here. From Shuangqing to the northwest, pass Xiangshan Temple to Banshan Pavilion. Then you can go up to the White Pine Pavilion, past the gorgeous autumn forest (red leaf area), Yuxiang Pavilion and Langfeng Pavilion.
7. Langfeng Pavilion: a pavilion beside the road, a sword stone beside the pavilion, engraved with the word "Langfeng". Standing on the pavilion overlooking the West Mountain, it is refreshing.
8. Senyuhu: From Langfeng Pavilion to the west, you can see a huge cliff. Emperor Qianlong looked at it like a Wat version in the hands of courtiers, so he gave it this name. Senyuhu's three large characters are carved on the stone wall. There are many eulogizing inscriptions and poems nearby.
9. Chaoyang Cave: There is a cave in the northwest of Senyuhu, called Chaoyang Cave. Emperor Qianlong came to this cave and wrote poems on the spot. Stone carvings can still be seen.
10. Ghostly Sorrow: Walk through the platform from the Chaoyang Cave to the top of the incense burner. Here, the mountains are towering, often like clouds blowing. The highest point, 557 meters above sea level, is also called Chongyang Pavilion. It is the place where the emperor climbs high on September 9 every year, but there is no pavilion. It is just a temporary resting place with a tent made of yellow satin.
11. West Mountain Clear Snow Stele: You can see a stele from the north of the platform, 1 "West Mountain Clear Snow", erected in 1751, the 16th year of Qianlong's reign. It is one of the eight scenic spots in Yanjing.
12. Yuhua Villa: Go down from the "sunny and snowy West Mountain" to the Yuhua Villa in the center of the mountain area, passing the Fourth and Third Yuhua Courtyards. This is the Yuhua Temple of the Ming Dynasty, which was later transformed into a villa. It is a good place to watch red leaves.
13. Zhaomiao: Go north from Yuhua Villa, and then go to Zhaomiao via Furong Hall. This is a large Tibetan temple. In the 45th year of Qianlong's reign (1780), it was built to welcome the Tibetan Panchen Lama to Beijing. The eye-catching building of the temple is the glazed pagoda, which is 30 meters high. On the top of the pagoda are yellow glazed vases and eight ridges with vertical eaves. There are 56 copper bells in the eaves, which sound when you hear the wind. Below are the octagonal Xumizuo and white jade railings. Under the stone railing is a tile cover with eight sides open, and below it is a stone tower base with eight sides open. Each side is carved with a statue of Buddha.
14. See the Heart Room: A wall can be seen to the north of the Zhao Temple, and the Heart Room can be seen inside the wall. This is the only well preserved historic site. It was built in the first year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1522) and rebuilt in the first year of Jiaqing in the Qing Dynasty (1796). The layout of the buildings in the courtyard is full of Jiangnan flavor. The east side of the yard is a semicircular pool. The spring water pours into the pool from the tap. Hang "See Heart Studio"
